My first day in Idaho was very slow and relaxed. I had driven straight from Seattle the night before, and in my eagerness to get here and enthusiasm over the blue moon, I exceeded the speed limit and got ticketed by police. Inevitably, after the intensive work of the summer and long hours of the week before, I came to pretty Coeur d’Alene in need of some rest and a new phone and camera. So my first stop was Verizon, and my day was spent learning how to shoot pictures and video on it while texting friends, something that had been cumbersome on my old flip phone.
Once I managed that, I decided the rest of the day was to be spent relaxing along the harbor with the other vacationers soaking up the last weekend of summer. Many details are lost to me because I was learning a new camera and often wind drowns out my videos. I remember eating and drinking at an outdoor cafe and buying a shoulder bag at a craft shop that has accompanied me on travel for many years since. Tamu and I wandered very pretty harbor and got organized for the rest of the week.
